RETURN AND REFUND POLICY — CHAPTER TWO
Seller identification: The Chapter Two online store is operated by SARL DRESS CODE PRODUCTIONS, a limited liability company (SARL) with share capital of 1,000 euros, whose registered office is located at 13 Boulevard Guynemer, 06240 Beausoleil, France, registered with the Nice Trade and Companies Register under SIRET number 980 215 354 00013, intra-Community VAT number FR88980215354, EORI number FR980215354 (hereinafter "Chapter Two," "we," "us," "our"). For any questions regarding a return or refund, you may contact us at hello@chaptertwo.fr or via our online return portal accessible from your order account.
This policy applies to any order placed by a consumer (a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft, or profession) on the Chapter Two website, regardless of delivery destination: France, European Union, or international.
1. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL (FRANCE AND EUROPEAN UNION CUSTOMERS)
In accordance with Articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, you have a period of 14 days from receipt of your order to exercise your right of withdrawal, without having to justify your reasons or pay any penalties, except, where applicable, for the return costs specified in Article 4 below.
The 14-day period runs from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and designated by you, take physical possession of the last item ordered (in the case of an order for several goods delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last item).
For orders delivered outside the European Union, this statutory right of withdrawal does not apply as a matter of right. However, Chapter Two has chosen to extend to you, on a commercial basis, the same 14-day return conditions described in this policy, regardless of your delivery destination.
1.1 How to exercise your right of withdrawal You may notify us of your decision to withdraw:
- by initiating your return request directly through our FASTOCHE return management portal, accessible from your order confirmation or customer account;
- by email at hello@chaptertwo.fr, indicating your order number and the items concerned;
- or by any other unambiguous statement expressing your intention to withdraw.
An acknowledgment of receipt of your withdrawal will be sent to you without delay on a durable medium (email).
1.2 Time limit and procedure for returning the item You have a period of 14 days from the date you communicate your decision to withdraw to return the item to us, along with all its accessories (box, certificate of authenticity, tags, original packaging).
The item must be returned to us in a condition suitable for resale: unworn, unaltered, complete, and in its original packaging. Chapter Two reserves the right to refuse a return or offer a partial refund if the item shows obvious signs of wear or has been handled beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and characteristics.
2. EXCLUSIONS FROM THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
In accordance with Article L221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for contracts involving goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized.
Personalized, engraved, or custom-made jewelry ordered at the customer's request is therefore excluded from any right of return or refund. This exclusion is noted on the product page and at the time of order confirmation for any relevant item.
This exclusion does not affect the application of the statutory warranty of conformity and the warranty against hidden defects described in Article 6 below, including for personalized jewelry.
3. HOW TO RETURN YOUR ITEM TO US
- Log in to your FASTOCHE return management account using your order number and the email address used at the time of purchase.
- Select the item(s) concerned and the reason for your request.
- Choose the desired solution: refund to the original payment method, store credit/gift card, or exchange (see Article 5).
- Print the prepaid return label generated by FASTOCHE and drop off your package at a drop-off point.
- Your return is received and inspected by our logistics warehouse, operated by our provider TREMAIL LOGISTICS FRANCE SAS (3-4 Rue Pie Grièche, ZA du Bas de la Chaux, 25500 Le Belieu, France).
Returns sent by any method other than that indicated by FASTOCHE, or to an address other than the one shown on the return label, cannot be guaranteed.
4. RETURN COSTS
A contribution toward return costs will be requested only when you choose a refund to your original payment method, corresponding to the actual re-shipping costs, as follows:
- Mainland France: €5.70
- European Union: €9.90
- International (outside the European Union): €19.90
This amount is deducted from the total refund. This information is communicated to you before you confirm your return request on the FASTOCHE portal, in accordance with Article L221-23 of the French Consumer Code.
This contribution toward return costs never applies:
- in the case of an exchange, which is offered free of charge;
- in the case of a refund in the form of store credit or a gift card, also offered free of charge;
- in the case of a return related to a lack of conformity or a hidden defect in the item (see Article 6), in which case return costs are fully covered by Chapter Two.
For international deliveries outside the European Union, any customs duties, import taxes, or additional fees that may apply at the time of the original shipment or the return are not reimbursed by Chapter Two.
5. REFUND AND EXCHANGE TERMS
When submitting your request on the FASTOCHE portal, you are free to choose the solution that suits you, each described with its applicable conditions in Article 4 above:
- Refund to the payment method used for the purchase;
- Store credit or gift card usable on the Chapter Two website, free of charge;
- Exchange for another item, another size, or another model, free of charge, subject to stock availability.
The refund (to the original payment method or as store credit) is issued within a maximum period of 14 days from the date we are informed of your decision to withdraw or return the item. However, we reserve the right to defer this refund until the returned item has been received, or until you have provided proof of shipment of the item, whichever occurs first, in accordance with Article L221-24 of the French Consumer Code.
The refund is made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly chosen another option (store credit/gift card) on the FASTOCHE portal. It incurs no cost to you, other than the contribution provided for in Article 4 in the case of a refund to the original payment method.
6. STATUTORY WARRANTY OF CONFORMITY AND WARRANTY AGAINST HIDDEN DEFECTS
Independently of the right of withdrawal and the commercial return policy described above, and without any time limit tied to those provisions, all jewelry purchased on Chapter Two benefits from the following statutory warranties:
- The statutory warranty of conformity, provided for in Articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, for a period of 2 years from delivery of the item.
- The statutory warranty against hidden defects, provided for in Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code, for a period of 2 years from discovery of the defect.
Under these statutory warranties, you have the choice between repair or replacement of the item, and you bear no costs, including return costs, in connection with the exercise of these warranties. These statutory warranties apply even to the personalized jewelry referred to in Article 2, which is excluded only from the right of withdrawal.
To invoke one of these warranties, please contact our customer service at hello@chaptertwo.fr.
7. PERSONAL DATA
As part of the processing of your return or refund request, your personal data (identity, contact details, order information) is shared with our providers FASTOCHE (return management platform) and TREMAIL LOGISTICS FRANCE SAS (logistics warehouse), acting as data processors, solely for the purposes of processing your request. To learn more about the processing of your personal data and how to exercise your rights, please consult our Privacy Policy available on the Chapter Two website.
